Our Beginnings

Intertek's Canadian roots can be traced back to Warnock Hersey, which was started in 1888 as a small chemical testing laboratory. Today, the respected Warnock Hersey network of laboratories is part of Intertek. The widely recognized Warnock Hersey Mark, which appears on all types of non-electrified building materials, is just one of the product certification marks issued by Intertek and our global facilities.
